Webcast IconWelcome to Bristol City Council's webcasting site

Bristol City Council webcasts a range of meetings to improve openness, understanding and accountability of local decision making. The project has developed from an EU project called E-participate. If you have problems viewing our webcasts, please see the Help and FAQ section.

2010/11 Budget setting

The results of the draft budget proposals consultation, which closed on January 18th, were considered in the Cabinet meeting on January 28th. The cabinet's recommendations will be presented to Full Council for the budget setting meeting held at 14:00 on February 23rd.

If you miss the live webcasts, you can watch the archive of these meetings by clicking on the links provided above.

You can also watch the leader of the council, Councillor Barbara Janke, respond to questions from the public about the proposals in a series of You Tube interviews.

Bristol Question Time Live

Watch first edition of Bristol Question Time Live!

To celebrate Local Democracy Week, we recently held our first Bristol Question Time Live! debate featuring the Leader of the Council, Party Group Leaders, a Superintendent from the Police and a Policy Director from Sustrans. Topics discussed included public transport, aspirations for Bristol, anti-social behaviour, licensing laws and drink related problems; ethnic minority achievement and young people.

Give us some feedback and look at our live blog, which featured comments and questions from the online audience.

What is a Webcast?

A webcast is a transmission of audio and video over the internet. Through the use of your internet connection (either broadband or via a dial-up modem) and Windows Media Player you can view the meetings live from the comfort of your own home on your PC or Apple Mac.

Should you miss a meeting, or would like to view a section of the meeting again, you can do so through our webcast archives. The archives allow you to view the meeting at your leisure and, using the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker.
